It appears that Senator John Edwards is as much of a pussy as McGovern. After an ass whooping defeat by Senator Clinton of Senator Obama in West Virginia, Edwards has given in to the pressure being exerted by the Obama campaign and certain officials in the DNC to get on the Obama bandwagon. Instead of coming out in favor of the candidate who has proven she has fought for those without a voice, something very important and central to Edward’s campaign while running, and the candidate with a truly universal health care plan, something also very important to Edward’s and his wife, he comes out in favor of Obama. So essentially, after critically questioning and criticizing Obama through the campaign about his health care plan and his voting record in the IL State Senate, none of that matters and he is now ready to endorse him. Now after remaining on the sidelines for so long, Edwards has caved in to pressure, proving he is weak and disloyal and will allow influential people to try and manipulate the process. Well the voters of WVA said no to that and sent a strong message to Obama and those who support him- not everyone is ready to jump on the Obama bandwagon, and you can continue to throw everything you can at Hillary, at the end of the day, those voters who can think for themselves and see the candidates for who they really are and what they believe in, choose Hillary Rodham Clinton. That’s why the latest polls show 6 in 10 Democrats believe Hillary should stay in the race. This ploy by Edwards/Obama is just another tool in Barack’s arsenal to deflect media attention away from Hillary, her kicking his ass in West Virginia, and trying to come up smelling like roses. I’m quite sure Edward’s was promised either the VP slot or a cabinet position, and anyone who believes differently is a complete idiot.

Thank you to the voters of West Virginia for showing the country that solutions and not platitudes are what we need in this election. Thank your for overwhelmingly showing the country and the Democratic super-delegates that this race is not done yet, and that not everyone is ready to jump on the Obama bandwagon, like Edwards and McGovern. Thank you for showing the courage to stand up and resoundingly tell Obama and his supporters that there are still voters in this country who care too much about it to allow a political neophyte like Obama to advance to the nomination. I only hope those voters in the remaining primary states and the super-delegates can show the strength you have shown.

So Hillary lost N.C., no surprise there with the number of black voters, and she won by a slim margin in Indiana, no surprise there as Barack outspent her again 3 to 1. However, all of the pundits spelling doom and defeat for Senator Clinton should finally, once and for all, stick something in their mouths. We have contests to go, we still have Florida and Michigan to count. At the end of the day, it comes down to electability. Hillary Clinton can defeat John McCain…Barack Obama cannot. Those saying Clinton is destroying the Democratic party are delusional. This is healthy. I thought the whole point of elections was to allow everyone to vote, and to count every vote. Didn’t we learn anything from FL? To Senator Clinton I say, you represent the great State of New York and NYer’s, like myself, dont’ quit! We do not give in to pressure, we stand and fight for what we believe in. How presumptuous of Obama’s supporters to urge you to quit. You have every right to stay in this contest as long as you can. And by God, at the end of the day, when all is said and done, you will prevail. If this country wants another Republican in office, then by all means vote Obama. But if this country wants someone who will stand up to special interests, who will fight for those who don’t have a voice, who will restore the middle class of this country, who will fight for universal health care, who understands the reality of politics and who will restore this great country of ours then surely they will vote for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Those supporters of Senator Clinton who have folded like a cheap deck of cards and have backed Obama, should be ashamed. If a little pressure is all it takes, then Senator Clinton doesn’t need your support. You come out in support of a candidate because you believe in what they can accomplish and what they believe in. To abandon them in the heat of battle shows the lack of courage that you have. Mr. McGovern, you disgust me. To all Clinton supporters I say: do not give up, do not give in, do not let the pundits spin their webs- stand up, be heard and support the most qualified woman for the job…Senator Clinton, the next President of the United States.

Dear Friend:

I am writing to tell you about my friend, Hillary Clinton, and why I am standing with her in her campaign for the presidency. I know the kind of president Hillary Clinton will be because I know the person she is.

I am inspired by her courage and her honesty. She is a reliable and trustworthy person. She is someone I not only admire but one for whom I have profound affection.

Hillary does not waver in standing up for those who need a champion. She has always been a passionate protector of families. As a child, she was taught that all God’s children are equal, and as a mother, she understood that her child wasn’t safe unless all children were safe. As I wrote about Hillary recently in a praise song: “She is the prayer of every woman, and every man who longs for fair play, healthy families, good schools and a balanced economy.”

It may be easy to view Hillary Clinton through the narrow lens of those who would write her off or grind her down. Hillary sees us as we are, black and brown and white and yellow and pink and relishes our differences knowing that fundamentally we are all more alike than we are unalike. She is able to look through complexion and see community.

She has endured great scrutiny, and still she dares greatly. Hillary Clinton will not give up on you, and all she asks is that you do not give up on her. She is a long-distance runner. I am honored to say I am with her for the long run.

I am supporting Hillary Clinton because I know that she will make the most positive difference in people’s lives and she will help our country become what it can be. Whether you are her supporter, leaning towards her, undecided, or supporting someone else, I believe Hillary Clinton will represent you – she will be a president for all Americans. It is no small thing that along the way we will make history together.

Vote for Hillary Clinton and show your support at www.hillaryclinton.com. I know she will make us proud.

It amazes me to no end that Obama is once again being a typical politician, posturing to ensure he comes out of this latest “controversy” unscathed. Balderdash I say. First Senator Obama comes out in a speech on race and says he refutes what Wright said, but the pastor is entitled to say what he wants as those views are not his. Now Pastor Wright speaks in front of the National Press Club, and essentially repeats what he said in various sermons, but all of a sudden Obama is “outraged.” So for twenty years Obama just happened to be absent from church every single time Pastor Wright gave an inflammatory sermon. How lucky for the Senator. Too little, too late Mr. Obama. From day one, you should have taken to the pulpit of your church and denounced both Pastor Wright and his sermons to your congregation. You should have said that such hatred should not and would not be tolerated by you. You didn’t. This shows me and the rest of those living in reality that you have no political courage, that in fact your nothing but a typical politician who will do what is politically necessary to survive another day. The fact that you are now “outraged” by your pastor’s comments proves it. The worst part of this whole thing is that Obama supporters continue to be brainwashed and can’t see Obama for what he is. High on talk and low on results. Senator Obama had two years in the United States Senate to burnish his credentials as a uniter, as someone who could work across the aisle and get things done. He did none of that. Dare to fail, dare to succeed. Senator Obama dared not. As a state senator from IL, he again chose to remain under the radar and vote the party line. How sad that people actually think we can afford to have someone like this in the White House in these times we now face. Senator Obama would be perfect for UN Secretary-General. He would be disastrous as President of the United States. As a people we deserve hope and solutions. We deserve not just change for the sake of change, but someone with the experience to bring about that change. We need someone whose head is not in the clouds but is schooled in reality, and that reality is that this country, for over 200 years, has been governed by partisan politics, a two party system. It will not change overnight. To think that it will is naïve. We need someone who will work with Republicans when needed, but knows how to roll up their sleeves and fight for what is important to the average working American. That person is United States Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. The people of PA just proved my very point. The fact that Obama outspent Hillary 3-1, proves that you can’t buy an election and that people want more than cheap words. They heard Senator Clinton specifically plan out how she would deal with the array of issues facing this country. All they heard from Senator Obama was that he would bring change to D.C. The people of PA told Senator Obama what he can do with his change…by 10 points. People don’t care about grandiose language. They care about gas prices, taxes, education, mortgages, college loan interest rates…bread and butter issues and whose gonna fix the mess for them. The woman with a plan is Senator Clinton. I hope the voters in NC, IN, OR and Puerto Rico recognize that fact.

It all comes down to this…will the citizens of PA stand up and say enough of the rhetoric, enough of the empty words, enough of the slogan “change” and say we want a leader, a fighter…a doer? The candidate of choice should be Hillary Rodham Clinton, the junior Senator from the great State of New York. Why? Because she is not just running on a promise of change, she is running on 35years of change. She has proven herself to be an effective voice for the people of New York and will do the same for all Americans. She has proven that she can reach across party lines when needed, but also stand up to the Republican machine. She has proven that she can learn from her mistakes, making her better prepared for the future. She has proven that no matter what is thrown at her by her enemies and those wishing her to fail, she will stand up and continue to fight for those without a voice. She has proven that from day one she would be a strong leader, a capable leader, an American leader. So I ask all citizens of PA to stand up and say to the media and the Obama campaign enough. Enough to the media for their biased reporting of this campaign and enough to Obama and his mantra of change. Not only does Hillary say “yes we can” she also says, and more importantly, “yes we will!” So go to the polls next week and support a candidate who has offered more than words, who has a track record of proven accomplishment and who will restore this great country to what it once was. Support and vote Hillary Clinton.

Once again I am struck by the delusional fantasy world that Barack Obama and his supporters live in. I refer to his recent speech on race. Quite frankly Senator- too little, too late. My first question to him would be why give this speech now? Because your campaign was in trouble and the nominating process is heading into the final leg and you wanted to re-direct positive attention to your campaign? Most likely. Senator Obama is as calculating as any politician I’ve seen and I do not give him enough credit. Many people have fawned over his speech, gushing it was one of the greatest political speeches since the days of MLK Jr. Puh-lease. Why didn’t you speak out on race when your were a community organizer in IL? Or when you were a state senator? Or when you were elected to the United States Senate? What have you done about race relations so far? If you so truly cared about race, why did you not give your speech in your church and address your congregation directly? Where was your courage then Senator? I’ll tell you, you don’t have any. You are like any other politician seeking higher office. More and more your campaign has been getting aggressively negative of the Clinton campaign. I thought your candidacy was going to be different? Why are you slinging mud all of a sudden and going negative? Is it because you’re losing PA by double digits? Is it because you are down double digits in W. VA? Is it because Clinton is catching up with you in NC? I think it is all that and more. You were a member of that church for over 20 years and you didn’t know the racial and pig-headed closed minded attitude of your pastor? BULLSHIT! You should be ashamed of yourself. Oh and before I forget, throwing your grandmother under the proverbial bus in your speech was also a class act. Crediting her with helping raise you, then calling her a racist. Truly a message of change Senator. You and your supporters are delusional. It amazes me that the electorate continues to eat the crap you throw out. But then I remember that this is a country which follows the trials and tribulations of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan religiously, so it makes sense. Those of us in the real world see a desperate situation. People getting kicked out of their homes, being given the pink slip at work, not able to afford decent health care, paying through the nose for gas at the pump, two continuing wars draining our treasury and blood of our soldiers, food costs rising, higher education costs continuing to balloon and many other issues. What we need now is to get our feet back under us. We need to get this nation back on track. We need real solutions for these very real problems facing this nation. Race and gender discrimination are two serious issues that this country needs to face, but not now. We need to focus on the bread and butter issues first. We need to fix our economy, balance our budget, fix the foreclosure mess, focus on the real terrorism battlefront- Afghanistan, get us from a carbon based economy to a green based one and restore the middle class of America. Then and only then, we can begin to talk about race and gender in our society. The person who understands this and can get this done is Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. She and all her supporters, who are in the here and now, understand that unless we stop and reverse the course this country is on, we may never be able to rescue it. So to all Obama supporters I urge you now to sit and seriously look at your candidate. He proposes change. What kind of change? How will he get this change done? Whom will he work with? What proposals has he offered? Then take a serious look at Senator Clinton. You will find specific answers for the questions I just posed and then you may begin to take your head out of the clouds and realize that in reality, Obama doesn’t stand up and that Senator Clinton really is what she says she is- ready to be Commander-in-Chief and lead from DAY ONE.

On Tuesday, March 4, Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island will go to the polls to decide their choice for nominee of the Democratic party. I hope the residents of those states will select Hillary Clinton. At this crucial time in our nation’s history, rhetoric alone will not solve our problems. Action, solutions and experience are what will determine the outcome of where we stand. Terrorism, health care, a strained military force, economic downturn, North Korea, Iran, Cuba, energy, global warming, failed states across Africa, HIV/AIDS, the rise of extremist Islam and so many other issues are what will confront our President when sworn into office in January 2008. Quite frankly, I do not want a neophyte running the show. That is exactly what will happen if Barack Obama is selected as our nominee. He is delusional, as are his supporters, to think that simply wanting change and speaking of it will end the partisan games in Washington. The game we know as politics will not change overnight and to think so is being naive. George Bush said the same thing when he ran and look what it got us. To think that Republicans will roll over and play dead is outrageous. Republicans will fight and a fighter is what we need. Someone who will go to bat for the average American, whose voice is no longer heard in Washington. Senator Clinton has proved that she can work across the political aisle when needed to get things done, but also how to stand up for Democratic beliefs and ideals when needed against the onslaught of the Republican machine. She has stood up for the citizens of New York and will do the same for every American. The job of President of the United States is not one where we can afford to allow on the job training. We tried that with George Bush. Look where it got us. So on March 4, the residents of the states mentioned above need to wake up and face reality. And in the world of reality they will find Hillary Rodham Clinton standing ready to lead, to take us across the bridge to the 21st Century and provide 21st Century solutions to 21st Century problems. Remember that when going to the polls and deciding who to support. On the one hand we have a gifted public speaker who can excite the imagination, but not provide specifics of what he will do. And on the other we have a gifted public servant, who may not be as exciting, but has offered solutions for America to reverse the downward trend we are on. I vote for the latter.
